Our Coil-overs are designed to fit GM Front Wheel Drive vehicles from 1995 to present. These include Chevy Lumina, ( Including Z34 Monte Carlo), Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Regal, Olds Cutlass and others. To be assured that our Coil-over package is correct for your application, please view the photos immediately below. The two photos below show GM front struts. Looking closely at the strut on the right, you will notice that the steering tie rod attachment (circled in RED) is part of the strut. The strut on the left does not have the steering tie rod attachment as part of the strut, the steering tie rods connect to the front spindle. The spindle is not shown.

Our Coil-over kits utilize 12" long springs. This places the threaded aluminum sleeve near the bottom of the strut - close to the flange that mounts the strut to the spindle. Referring back to the photo, you will see that the steering tie rod attachment point on the strut would interfere with the threaded aluminum sleeve. Also notice the spring perch common to both style struts. In order to use HT Motorsports Coil-overs, you must remove this spring perch.

This procedure may be done with a hand grinder, saws all - or hacksaw (for the
really ambitious). I have used all three methods, but prefer turning the struts
in a lathe to remove the spring perch. Knowing that not everyone has access to a
lathe, we offer that service to our customers. If you purchase our Coil-overs
with new struts, we remove the spring perch and assemble the Coil-overs. When
they arrive on your doorstep, they are ready for installation.
Selecting the proper spring for your application is based on
the relative stiffness and ride quality you desire. Everyone wants a ride that
is stiff in the corners (characterized by a high spring rate) yet smooth on the
bumps (characterized by a low spring rate). Our 12" springs allow more travel
before "bottoming out" which allows for a smooth ride, yet stiff in cornering.
To make this point, compare our Coil-overs utilizing 12" springs to others
lowering springs using 6" or 7" springs. Their springs must be twice the spring
rate as ours to keep them from bottoming out when going over the same bump. The
higher spring rate, required by the shorter spring length, leads to a harsh
ride. Also consider that their springs ride in the spring perch originally
designed for a different sized spring, hardly an optimal solution. Spring rates
ranging from 200# to 500# are available in 25# increments as well as progressive
rate springs. We will work with you to make sure you have the right spring rate
for your application and driving style.
The last thing to consider is the aluminum sleeve itself. We
have made these threaded aluminum sleeves exclusively for the larger GM struts.
We are the only ones able to provide such a solution. We would be happy to
address any issues / concerns / questions you may have. Feel free to
